Great texture, weird aftertaste. May try once again with less baking soda or vinegar and add a bit more chocolate. Easy to make, had all ingredients in the house (sans packaged icing). Might be better tasting with some kind of milk.

Easy to throw together (though I mixed it in a bowl rather than the baking dish) .
Sprinkled the top with a little powdered sugar and stood back while the family devoured it.

This cake is so amazing. It is a family favorite. I top it with cream cheese frosting which is crazy easy to make we all LOVE this so much it is moist flavorful and has an incredible chocolate taste the last chocolate cake recipe you will ever need

I put a little bit too much vinegar by mistake but for such an easy cake very tasty.

Surprised since most reviews are so enthusiastic, but for me this was just...acceptable. Rubbery texture, ratio of sweet to bitter was off and it left an unpleasant aftertaste. Followed the directions and didn’t spray the (non-stick) pan, but the cake stuck and broke in pieces when I tried to remove it.

It was just so so. Moist but the flavour was lacking. I didn’t have any instant coffee so that might have made the difference. Also took about 45 to 50 min. to bake

Easy to make! Used whole wheat flour and
just half cup brown sugar. Came out just great!

Great! My son and I made cupcakes and they were moist and sweet. I made buttercream frosting which made them really sweet Just what we were looking for!

oh my gosh! delicious! i doubled the recipe to make a 9x13 cake. i mixed mine in a mixing bowl as opposed to right in the pan like they suggested. i also greased my pan before baking. instead of using 10 tablespoons of oil for the double batch i did half oil and half vegetable oil shortening. the cake baked up beautifully! i sprinkled mine with powdered sugar and served it slighty warm.. its addicting!
