This is a slight variation of an old family recipe where we added 4 1-2 cups flour and chilled overnight. We also iced the cookies. They are by far the most successful cookies I've ever made!!! I've noticed the quality of your ingredients impacts this recipe greatly, especially the quality of the flour. Don't give up, it took a bit for me to perfect it but it is so worth it!!!

Super dry and crumbly, i shortened the baking time which didnt help. I am going to try a different recipee next time.

Easy to make! Didn’t turn out quite like I was expecting! Might try again if I just needed a really quick sugar cookie

So light and fluffy! The next time I make them I will use a touch more vanilla and pack my powdered sugar a little more tightly. This is a fantastic recipe! Will double it next time for gifts in my office!

So these cookies cannot be more perfect. I believe the secret is the cream of tarter. My grandmother always made hers using it too, so I specifically looked for a recipe that had it. These cookies are crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The flavor is classic sugar cookie, sweet but with that little bite to them. I dare you not to nibble on the dough as you make the cookies. It’s IMPOSSIBLE!
