Ingredients
US|METRIC
5 SERVINGS
- 2 Tbsp. canola oil
- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 lb. ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 2 tsp. ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 8 oz. tomato sauce
- 1 jalapeno (seeded and minced fine, alternately, you can add hot pepper sauce to taste or canned jalapenos OR just leave out the heat altogether, although I think the meat really needs a little kick and adding the jalapeno without seeds didn't make the dish overly spicy)
- taco shells

Absolutely great used a different taco seasoning also from Yummly. Very quick and easy.

Came out great. Used a taco seasoning recipe (also from Yummly) in place of the seasoning here, but but kept the tomato paste. 2Tbs of taco seasoning made it fantastic. Did taco shells in the oven using corn tortillas as well. Big hit.

Had to season it with seasoning salt instead of table salt and it turned out great. Would definitely repeat

Very good! I didn’t have chili powder, so I had to make my own. Also used less tomato sauce and left out the jalapeño (but served them raw with other toppings).

I love this recipe! All the spices give it a really nice flavor without too much added garbage. It’s a fabulous recipe recommended for anyone who has good taste.

It was flavorful but way too spicy. The cumin and coriander seem a lot for the recipe and I toned the chili down a whole bunch too. And I am from India and I eat spicy!

Awesome!
I've made them several times - without jalapeños. Kid approved!

Best taco recipe I've found to date! I made 3 substitututions - 1) subbed 1/2 teas garlic salt for garlic, 2) 4oz tomato paste +water for tomato sauce, and 3) added 1/2 teas cayenne in place of jalapeños. Voila! Amazing taco fill!

This is an awesome recipe. Came out great! I followed the directions to the T except I elected to go with out the chili's. Once you make this recipe you will never go with the taco packet seasoning again.

Pretty good. I made it as the recipe calls for, but without coriander as my kids hate it. And I upped the other spices, We used Habanero peppers.

It was very good to me and my wife, the only complaint i would have would be that it was very sweet. I am making it again soon and will keep the recipe as is and add a can of rotel and put some more spices in it, other than that it was great!
