I've made this a few times now. The first time I mostly followed recipe to a T. It was REALLY good, but not the best. This recipe is a keeper, but I continue to deviate each new batch. I've found that I prefer the overall texture if I peel the apples and don't slice them too thin. I cut the sugar in half, doubled the vanilla and cinnamon, added ginger, and used a variety of apples. For the topping I reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 c, increased the oats to 1/2 c, reduced the flour to 1/3 c. I eliminated the added salt because I used salted butter.

Soooooo amazing. Hit the spot when I was craving a fall treat. I used gala apples but it would be good with any kind. Perfect with ice cream or cream.

It turned out great the first time but it was a little too sweet so I lessened the sugar the second time I made it and it was perfect! It wasn't too sweet for our tastes and it was addicting. Finished it whole within the day. I might try it with custard the next time I make it!

It turned out great. I doubled the recipe and made it in a 9 x 13 glass dish and will enjoy it, with ice cream, during the Ohio State Buckeye game against Rutgers.
GO BUCKS!!!

Gosh, this recipe was so easy to make and scrumptious. I put it together within 20 minutes and finished dinner while dessert cooked. My kids could smell the apples so they ate little dinner and couldn’t wait for dessert. We had it with vanilla ice cream. Sooo delicious. With a busy lifestyle and very active family, this is a great go-to dessert with pantry staples. I always have apples. I used a Granny Smith, Pink Lady, and two Honey Crisps. Apples stayed firm and chunky. Bravo to the chef who designed the recipe.

I used way less sugar and added more oats. I like my apple crisp to have a thick layer of the oat mix on top. Very good. I liked it with the vanilla. Was a hit with my family. I will make again!

It turned out well for my first time making it. But just too sweet, maybe cut back the brown sugar next time.

I honestly love this recipe! I used Golden Delicious apples and it turned out so well! I’ve made it twice now with apples I picked with my friends 🙂
