- 1/2 cup simple syrup (brown sugar, see note)
- 3 Tbsp. fish sauce
- 1/4 cup olive brine (green-, such as from Manzanilla olives)
- 1 1/2 cups lager (pale or rice, such as Singha or Sapporo)
- 1 fried shallots (recipe Thai-Style)
