  • 14 ounces extra firm tofu (or firm, pressed, I just bought this press from Amazon and I love it!)
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 12 ounces teriyaki sauce (your favorite vegan, or homemade if that’s your jam)

    Delicious! Would try a low sodium teriyaki sauce next time though since it was pretty salty. We didn’t have cornstarch so we used flour instead and it worked fine for crisping the tofu. Served it over couscous with a side of sautéed red cabbage and snap peas, making it a very filling and pretty meal.

    It came out sweet with a soft interior and crispy exterior. It’s simple and fast to prep, & it went great as an appetizer, can’t wait to cook it again.

    Skipped the pepper and just added garlic butter. Turned out pretty well perfect mixture of sweet and salt
