Love this a little too much lol. I found that buying higher quality items for the olive oil and tomatoes makes a big difference especially because of the way this sauce is made without cooking anything other than the oil and garlic. And make sure the basil and garlic is as fresh as possible. The only tweak I made to the recipe is using 6 garlic cloves instead of 4, other than that I follow the recipe. I did try diced tomatoes once as it was all I had on hand, but the full Roma and breaking up by hand is the way to go. So far I found the best result was with California Olive Ranch oil and Cento San Marzano tomatoes.
