  • 6 dried mushrooms (– soaked and stems removed)

  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 dash chicken (granules or msg)
  • 2 star anise
  • 4 cloves
  • 3 centimeters cinnamon stick (piece)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 centimeters old ginger (piece, – lightly smashed or sliced)
  • 4 stalks spring onions (– use only the end portion)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
