It was ok. Family picked at it, wouldn’t make again. Reminded me of being a kid but I preferred my moms.

It was good we used beef broth over water and it was great served with mash potatoes

It turned out so watery and if I hadn’t added beef bouillon and Worcestershire it probably would have been flavorless. Not making this again.

Came out good. I used a cheap cut of meat I had laying around. Will make again! I may use pork next time! I used fresh tomatoes instead of canned.

I made this tonight, and if I may say so myself, it was magnificent. Probably would have been so in any iteration, but here's what I did. I used top round, pounded. I used chopped garlic cloves mixed in with the tomatoes, no garlic or garlic powder directly on the steak. I used roasted red peppers because I had an open jar (they were so sweet when cooked). I added some water, then reduced. I cooked sweet potato wedges in the same pan. But here's the secret, compliments of my mother, who had only a small number of stellar dishes: one teaspoon of chili powder, one t dry mustard, 2 t wooster, 1 t sugar.

I love swiss steak! My mom made it as well in our house. I hated green peppers at the time and onions but liked the flavor. So I would pick those out and just have the gravy and meat over my mashed potatoes or rice. We had both too!! Love the memories, almost more than the meal!!
