- 1 1/2 cups no-chicken broth (Imagine Brand)
- 5 cloves garlic (smashed)
- broth (reserved, about 3/4 cup)
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. rice vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. sriracha sauce
- 1 tsp. fresh ginger (grated)
- 2 Tbsp. agave nectar
- 1 Tbsp. corn starch
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- 1/2 onions (halved and sliced)
- 5 kale leaves (large curly, with ribs removed and ripped into pieces)
- 1 handful cashew nuts
- 1/2 cup mushrooms (I used hon-shimeji here, but any type will do)
- 2 scallions (sliced)
- 1 cup corn starch (placed into a large and shallow bowl)
- 5 Tbsp. cold water (placed into a large and shallow bowl)
- vegetable oil (plenty of, for frying)
- rice (or noodles)
- sesame seeds (for serving)
