- 1 pie dough (recipe Easy, one half shaped and chilled in a pie plate, the other rolled out flat and chilled on a floured sheet pan)
- 2 1/2 lb. strawberries (fresh, washed, cored, and quartered)
- 4 oz. granulated sugar (more/less to your taste)
- 3 Tbsp. corn starch
- 1 egg (beaten with a pinch of salt)
- raw sugar (Optional:, for sprinkling, you may substitute granulated)

I used a little Agave Syrup in addition to the sugar in the strawberries, it does need a bit more sugar than listed here but it could be because my strawberries were a bit tart. The pie was better on day two when it sat for a bit of time. For the pie crust topping I made hand made crust with unsalted butter and shortening a tsp of salt, ice cold water and a little sugar. It was perfect. The pie was watery when I took it out of the oven and I thought I did something wrong but it was fine after it sat for a bit. It is simple if you want a simple receipe I would just sweeten it.

The pie didn’t taste bad, but when I took the pie out of the oven, it had a lot of liquid. I don’t know if I did something wrong or maybe something failed to be mentioned in the recipe. Wish it could’ve turned out better.
