Description
Pasta is always a quick and easy go to dinner option, especially when you do not want to turn on the oven or spend hours in the kitchen. This spaghetti dish features a homemade sun-dried tomato sauce that will have you refusing to ever buy store bought sauce ever again. Made with sun-dried tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, plenty of garlic, and fresh basil this sauce does not require much as far as preparation.

- olive oil
- 1 onion (diced)
- 2 garlic cloves (diced)
- 100 grams sun-dried tomatoes (packed in olive oil, drained and sliced)
- 400 grams crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 125 grams black olives
- 20 grams fresh basil (chopped, plus whole leaves for garnish)
- salt
- ground black pepper
- 500 grams spaghetti
- Parmesan cheese (grated)

Directions
- In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat up some olive oil. Saute the onions in it until softened. Then add the garlic and sun dried tomatoes. Saute 1 more minute.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, olives, and fresh basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Keep hot.
- Cook the spaghetti al dente according to package directions.
- Serve the cooked, drained spaghetti with the sauce on top. Finish with grated Parmesan cheese and whole basil leaves as garnish.
