- 1 Tbsp. pepper (paste)
- 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 jalapeno (finely chopped)
- 1/2 green bell pepper (finely chopped)
- 5 mushrooms (4 or ,finely chopped, optional)
- 4 onions (small, – finely chopped)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper
- 1/4 tsp. all-spice
- 2 tsp. pomegranate (paste or molasses or ¼ cup lemon juice (see note #1 below))
- tomato sauce (Reserved)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pomegranate molasses (or 1 tablespoon lemon juice)
