Description
Smoothies make refreshing alternatives to cereal for a quick and healthy breakfast, but they can also be enjoyed as an afternoon pick-me-up, in lieu of more sugary treats. This recipe calls for strawberries, Greek yogurt, and fresh basil -- yes, basil, which pairs perfectly with the berries, and is often combined with them in other preparations. You can use unsweetened yogurt, as desired, and also omit the brown sugar, or add more, to your liking.

- 6 strawberries (halved)
- 1 greek yogurt (sweetened)
- 1 basil leaf
- 2 ice cubes
- 2 tsp. dark brown sugar

Directions
- In a blender, add the strawberries, yogurt, ice cubes, and basil leaf. Blend until mixture is creamy. The basil's acid cuts some of the strawberries sweetness. Add more sugar if desired. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.
