- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- red food coloring paste
- 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/4 cup strawberry preserves
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 cups confectioners sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- strawberries (Garnish: fresh, optional)

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Line bottoms of 2 (9-inch) cake pans with parchment paper. Lightly coat each pan with baking spray; set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda; set aside.

Cake turned out delicious and moist! Great recipe! My only issue was that I had to leave it in the oven for close to 45 minutes. But I guess everyone’s oven is different. I will definitely make this again!

Nice and moist. I love this recipe. The cake and the frosting were awesome. Made this for Easter and I think it was perfect for us. I try not to buy buttermilk or cream cheese, it’s a little too pricey for everyday cakes and so on but this was a special occasion for us
