- 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract (for cake)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (for cake)
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberry puree
- 1/2 cup milk
- 8 oz. unsalted butter (softened, for frosting)
- 2/3 cup seedless strawberry jam
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 3 Tbsp. heavy cream (plus more as needed)
- 1/8 tsp. salt (for frosting)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Line two 12-cup cupcake pans with paper liners. Set aside.
- Place the butter, canola oil, granulated sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, cream the ingredients together on medium speed until smooth, about 1 minute. Add the eggs and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
