  • 3 ounces powdered gelatin (strawberry-flavored, like Jell-O brand, not sugar-free variety)
  • 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12.75 ounces all-purpose flour (3 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 8 ounces buttermilk (1 cup)
  • 4 ounces fresh strawberry puree (1/2 cup See Note below)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin (powdered, 1 envelope, like Knox brand)
  • 3 tablespoons water (cold)
  • 3 cups heavy cream (cold)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste (or 1 tbsp vanilla extract)
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries (washed, dried, hulled, and chopped into small pieces)
  • 8 ounces candy (white, coating I like Merckens brand)
  • 1 inch chocolate (transfer sheet, at least 10x16- if smaller use two sheets)
  • 8 ounces chocolate curls (white or pink)
