I don't know why this recipe says 3hrs. If you already have packaged cabbage it takes about 5-6 minutes. Simple, easy and healthy. I didn't have ginger, which is fine. I'm not a huge fan. I added red chili pepper and japanese crunchy garlic topping to the cooking oil. Yummy.
