- 1 strip pork belly (about 450g, cut into 1" strips)
- 4 pieces tofu (hard, cut into 4 cubes each.)
- 2 Tbsp. bean paste (fermented soya, taucheow)
- 1 bulb garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- water (enough for stewing, I added just enough to cover the ingredients, add more if you like more gravy and be sure to adjust your seasonings)
- 2 Tbsp. caramel sauce
- 2 Tbsp. light soya sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
