Like many recipes, I tailored this recipe to my own tastes, equipment, experience and ingredients. I roughly doubled the recipe, and added in tri-color quinoa with the steel cut oats which I toasted in the pan with butter before adding liquids. I did not have brown sugar or a creme brûlée torch so when it was pretty much done I added some sugar in the raw and generous amounts of reduced sugar craisins. Mixed well. Topped with sliced banana, sliced almond, and a drizzle of local blueberry wildflower honey. Cinnamon and vanilla extract were added as requested by recipe. Tasted delicious, will do again.
