- 1/2 cup moong dal (shelled split mung beans)
- 1 pinch asafoetida

- 1 white onion (larger, peeled and finely diced)
- 1 fresh curry leaves (spring of)
- 1/2 ground turmeric (ts of)
- salt (to taste)
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 12 baby potatoes (small waxy yellow)
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 1 lime
