Had to tripple the fish sauce. Not as favorable to my taste. Im going to try another pho recipe next time.

I followed this recipe exactly. I found it very bland. It was easy to doctor up though.

It was excellent, fast, but flavors in broth were still rich and deep, I added a little Chinese 5 Spice and very thinly sliced chicken since I was low on shrimp. Once put in bowls, I added shredded carrots, thai basil, sprouts and crispy rice noodles. Making again this weekend, we love soup and this is now a good time to for us! Loved it!

With some minor adjustments to our tastes, it turned out excellent. I substituted whole grain rice pasta for the whole wheat pasta, substituted minced ginger for the garlic, used 4 cups low sodium chicken broth and 2 cups veg broth, added extra shrimp and lightly seasoned it with kosher salt before adding, and added extra mushrooms. The extra squeeze of the lime juice garnish and fresh cilantro at the end, brought it all together.
