- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 cups crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cube chicken (bullion, I used Knorr)
- 1 Tbsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. oregano (dried)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz. penne pasta (for gluten free version, use brown rice penne)

This was amazing. Instead of shrimp I chicken and the flavor was so good! Definitely will be making this again!

It came out great! I toned it down a little on the red pepper but, it still came out great!

This recipe is awesome!!! The only modification I added was adding creole seasoning to the shrimp because I like spicy food. But besides that the recipe was perfect. I made this for thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. This will definitely be my go to recipe for special occasions.

This is one of my favorite Yummly recipes and I make it with much frequency. This tomato sauce recipe prevents me from purchasing jar sauce ever again - I can't believe I spent 20 years using jar sauce! LOL
Thank you for a fantastic, flavorful pasta sauce. I'm alive again! I sometimes omit the cream. I use this sauce on homemade pizza and it's delish! I love the shrimp and I use chicken too. A solid, easy and delicious recipe!
