- 2 sheets fish cake (korean rectangular, 사각오뎅 sahgahk oden, cut into squares)
- 2 cups cabbage (cut into strips or 1 in squares)
- 1 carrot (sliced)
- 1/2 onion (sliced)
- 1 Tbsp. chopped garlic (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
- 3 cups water (or anchovy stock is even better)
- 2 Tbsp. gochujang (for spicy red bean paste)
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- 1 tsp. ketchup (optional)
- 1 tsp. soy sauce (korean, or gook kanjang, for soups – optional)
- 2 green onions (cut into 2 in long pieces)
- 3 perilla leaves (cut into thin strips)
