Ingredients

1 SERVINGS
- 1,500 mL red wine (dry organic, I used a Tempranillo. Grenache, Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon would be great, too)
- 2 apples (halved, core removed and thinly sliced)
- 2 oranges (1 sliced and just the juice and zest of the other)
- 1 cup pomegranate arils
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 3 inches ginger (nub of peeled, cut in half)
- 1 Tbsp. whole cloves
- 8 star anise
- 1 vanilla bean (split)
- 1/2 cup brandy (or cognac)
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar (this can be adjusted to your desired level of sweetness)
- 2 ginger beer (+ cups, /ale or club soda)
- orange wedges (studded with cloves)
- apple slices
- pomegranate arils (additional)
- frozen cranberries (or fresh)
- Bartlett Pear (in addition to the apple)
