- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (lightly packed)
- 3 Tbsp. runny honey
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. espresso powder (I omitted this for the kids)
- 1/2 tsp. rum (butterscotch or butter-, flavor, optional, I didn't use this)
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar (I used white vinegar)
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 cups white whole wheat flour
- 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips (I preferred the taste of 2⅔ cups)
