This is a very classic recipe for Snow Ice Cream.. I have been making it all my life whenever it snows.. Take only the top layer of the snow, especially from areas where it has yet to pack and is still blowing in drifts... The deeper the drift, the better, and never take it from the first snow as that is when the weather is cleaning the atmosphere and the snow will be impure. Always take it from the second or later snow.. It is always a 2x the snow per volume of iced cream ratio...You can make the recipe any way you want really.. even with coconut milk and chocolate syrup.. sprinkles.. etc.. even with candied fruit.. It's lovely.. I was 10... when my mother made it for me the first time, and I will always remember sitting on the hearth in front of a roaring fire eating that cup of " Snow-Cream. " Wonderful days.. Condensed milk gives more flavor BTW, and I tend to use natural sugar these days instead of white... Enjoy it folks.. It is a timeless classic and one of the very first recipes for iced cream ever... So old no one remembers who first thought of it.
