- 1/2 lb. white beans (dried, navy or great northern)
- 7 cups water
- 1 lb. stewed tomatoes (or of crushed, undrained)
- 1 cup onion (chopped)
- 1 cup celery (sliced)
- 1 cup potatoes (diced)
- 1 cup turnips (diced, optional, if you don't care for turnips add more potatoes)
- 3 beef bouillon cubes (or 1 can beef broth)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
- 1 dash tabasco (according to your taste)
