Originally adapted from a recipe on another website. This is one of my family's favorites. No matter what the occasion, this gets completely gobbled up.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey (or ground beef)
  • 15.5 ounces corn (undrained)
  • 15.5 ounces black bean (undrained)
  • 14.5 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 1 green pepper (diced)
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion flakes
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon chives
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for heat)

    Directions

    1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high hear; cook and stir ground turkey until crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and transfer ground turkey to a slow cooker and sprinkle with all spices.
    2. Add the crushed tomatoes, corn, and black beans, all with their liquid, to the slow cooker. Stir the onion, bell pepper, and tomato juice into the mixture. Cook on Low until the vegetables are completely tender, about 5 hours.
