Great recipe. Luscious. I am cooking sides early so not so much to do on the day.
And to the person (Joe) who questioned adding sugar to them the brown sugar gives it a wonderful flavor. if you do not want to put it in then don’t but you should not disparage others for doing so. It really galls me when someone wants to decide for others what they should or should not do when cooking!

why do people belueve they need to add sugar to an already sweet vegetable. its too much. skip the sugar and add more butter.

This turned out so good. This was my first time doing candied yams. I had five huge potatoes so it required more cooking time.
