Flavor is incredible! I’ve cooked twice and the second time I left the lime rinds in the slow cooker. Will not make this mistake again. It gave the dish a bit of a sour aftertaste. Fortunately I was able to fix with altering spices a bit!
Also, would recommend starting with a teaspoon of salt and adding more if need be. This dish has very high salt content.

SO GOOD!!! My entire family loves this meal and it’s super easy. *Make sure you use low sodium broth or cut out the extra salt you’re supposed to add*

Great for the busy days! Didn’t have low sodium beef broth so I used normal can and cut way back on the kosher salt. Have made several times.

Excellent, super tender meat & just enough flavor for each to spice up their own with salsa, extra lime, cilantro, etc

Just a normal roast to me and my husband. Was looking forward to using on sliders, and then as the meat for Mexican with the leftovers and it was really lacking flavor. I used a smaller roast than the recipe recommends and kept the same amount of everything else and it was pretty bland. Maybe I am missing something, but I followed the recipe exactly except for using a smaller roast 🤷🏼♀️

This was so so good. It was my first time making Barbacoa and it was a huge hit with the whole family. We served it with diced cilantro and onions, guac, and light cheese. So yummy. We will definitely make this again.

Ive made 5 really homemade dishes in my life .This dish was the one that made me realize i have the capability to make food better than its takeout equivalent. It sounds cheesy but this barbacoa saved my life

Tried this for a second time, definitely add more both. I didn’t sear the meat in the beginning and it turned out just fine. Was well cooked after 7 hours in my crockpot, probably could have done 6 hours on low.

This turned out to be super delicious! The only thing I added was about a tablespoon of minced garlic and a bit of crushed red garlic for the last hour. I also tripled the low-sodium beef broth. I served mine on tortillas with shreaded cheese and lettuce; and sauteed bell peppers and onions. I left out the cilantro because I can't stand the stuff. I also only used about 1/3 of a Tablespoon of salt. Thank God I read the reviews before making this recipe so I would know not to use a whole tablespoon. That is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I could see someone else making this recipe without reading the reviews and being very disappointed.

De-lish.
I cut out most of the salt and did trim the fat but that's just my preference.
At the end of 8 hrs I added 2 cloves of garlic (minced) and 2 sliced jalapeños - fantastic flavor!
Will absolutely make again. And again. And again.

Fantastic. I made cilantro lime rice, pico de gallo, and a corn mix to go on top. My husband loved it. Tasted just like Chipotle. I did double the liquid though per the other comments!

If you double even triple the liquid and reduce the salt, you will have a perfect meat for dinner.

pretty good. I added a dash of Datil Pepper for an extra kick. cooked it on low for 6 hours.

It turned out great! I didn’t add the salt because of previous reviews, and I’m glad I didn’t. It doesn’t need the salt. I also used 2 cups of low sodium beef broth instead.

Im in the process of making this, it smells amazing, but the time of this being done is way off, it says 55 minutes when clearly is not. I had this in the pot on High for almost 3 hours and its not close to being done!

So good! I cut back a bit on the salt (maybe a tsp less than what's called for) to suit our taste and it was delicious...and very easy. Will definitely make this again.
