It was very good! I did not use butter to cook the hamburger and I used half an onion. I’m gluten free so microwaved a couple of russet potatoes and then cubed and browned them in butter and some oil. Seasoned the potatoes with garlic salt and pepper and served dinner. Thanks! I’ll be making this again.

It’s my daughters favorite sloppy joe! That’s all that matters, thanks for the recipe!

I was looking for a simple enough recipe for ingredients that I had on hand. I am sold! Lots of flavor with the sweet/sour taste that a sloppy joe should have. I was concerned that the amount of chili powder would make it too spicy for my husband. His tolerance for hot and spicy is limited, but it was perfect. This will be a regular for us when a quick and easy meal is needed. A butter toasted bun is always the bomb!

A great recipe. However, it was sweet for my taste even with less ketchup. I used garlic salt instead of regular salt and added some mustard. I will try it again

My family loved these sloppy joes. I substituted an 8oz can of tomato paste for all that ketchup and skipped the 1/4 cup of water. Turned out great! A wonderfully tangy sauce. Double thumbs up from even my pickiest eater!

Best ever no need to search for another! Love the simplicity and flavor, I did not have the strong vinegar taste mentioned in the other comment and the amount I prepared made plenty. Keep in mind the recipe calls for one pound of beef, If you cant get 6 hamburger patties out of one pound normally, you will need to amp up the ingredients. I used ground turkey which has less reduction than beef because it contains less fat. It does not have the typical manwich flavor, more of a sweet BBQ taste in my opinion. Delicious!

I did not put in the chili powder. My family was not impressed with the Red Wine Vinegar taste. My daughter tasted it and refused to eat it. My one son commented on the strong Red Wine Vinegar taste but ate it. My oldest son who eats anything only ate half. I would possibly try again leaving out the Red Wine Vinegar. The portion said for 6. It made 2 open face buns for 5 people with not a lot of meat on each.
