- 1/2 tsp. grated orange zest (finely)
- 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt (coarse or flaky, or less of table salt)
- milk (or cream, for brushing crust)
- sugar (Coarse or fine, for sprinkling crust)
- cream (Softly whipped, lightly sweetened, for serving)
- 1 lb. plums (ripe prune, or greengages, halved, pitted, and halved again, i.e. quartered)
- 1 lb. apples (peeled, cored and cut into smaller chunks, than you see in my photos)
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 2 orange juice
