    My grandmother was pure cujan and you do not put bay leaf and NO thyme in shrimp and okra gumbo. In fact you cook down the okra before you put it in the gumbo. A true shrimp okra gumbo does not have a roux. You can put okra in a shrimp gumbo and it is very good, but there is a difference.

    It was good but didn’t taste authentic to me. I will try again as I did not have the gumbo file
