Description
Here’s a great recipe from former Hodo chef Jason De Guzman. This is a light dish that is full of flavor. It packs a bit of a bite from the black pepper and a little crunch from the sesame seeds. The mushrooms add a wonderful umami flavor and it has become a Hodo favorite.
Ingredients

4 SERVINGS
- 2 blocks Hodo Soy medium tofu (medium)
- 1/3 cup safflower oil (vegetable oil (high temp cooking oil))
- 1/4 cup black sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp. black pepper (crushed, (cooking sake))
- 1/3 cup mirin ((cooking sake))
- 2 Tbsp. tamari
- 1/2 lb. oyster mushrooms
- 2 handfuls baby spinach (washed and rinsed)

Directions
- Cut tofu into large cubes (1inch x 1inch) and place into mixing bowl.
- Drizzle oil onto tofu while tossing gently so you don’t mush the tofu until just coated.
- Add sesame seeds and crushed black pepper onto tofu and coat by lightly tossing.
