- 1/3 cup bread crumbs (or cracker crumbs, I used bread crumbs)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg
- small onion (sliced, optional, I used half an onion)
- 1 can beef broth (condensed, I used Campbells)
- 4 oz. sliced mushrooms (drained, I left these out)
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 mushroom gravy mix (or pkt brown, I use 2)
- cooked rice
- mashed potatoes

For someone who doesn't have much experience in the kitchen, the instructions were a little bit hard to follow- maybe I missed something but when did it say to put the beef broth mixture in the skillet? There wasn't a lot of direction regarding temperature and time to cook the patties in the skillet and again not very specific in cook time for the casserole dish. In the end my Salisbury steak was a little bit bland but that's an easy fix.

This a great tasting dish and easy to make. We used fresh mushrooms and it turned out great
