- 3 dashes salt (and black pepper)
- 2 tsp. rubbed sage (dried, divided)
- 1 1/2 cups crimini mushrooms (or bella, roughly minced)
- 1 cup shiitake mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 2 cups no-chicken broth (Imagine brand)
- 3 Tbsp. cold water
- 1 Tbsp. arrowroot powder
- 1 Tbsp. nutritional yeast (optional)
- 2 loaves white sandwich bread (cheap, sliced and diced, and spread out on cookie sheets to dry out overnight.)
