I added a small can of diced green chilis, swapped the celery for frozen peas and carrots, and added garlic powder instead of salt and it was absolutely delicious! Must make again

Decided to heat it up by adding around 2 tablespoons Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wings sauce - tasted as I added to get the right hotness. Used about 1/2 cup or so of Panko breadcrumbs stirred into 1 1/2 TBS melted butter for the topping. Gave it a great crunch. A real winner, especially for a family not crazy about casseroles!

According to the recipe you’ll wind up with an okay dish. My recommendation is to scrap the almonds and celery and instead use garlic and onion powder to taste, and top it with barbecue sauce or chipotle hot sauce. Doing it that way gave a much more satisfying and flavorful dish (since the basic ingredients and seasonings leave the final dish feeling somewhat blasé). A further recommendation? Ritz instead of corn flakes, possibly everything style (though ours used regular ritz) for added flavor. Overall a good base recipe in any case!

Easy. I left out the celery and doubled up the Ritz crackers. Oh yeah, I used Ritz crackers. I may leave out the almonds next time
