- 28 oz. fire roasted tomatoes (drain them if you prefer a thicker salsa)
- 1 jalapeno (stem + seeds removed if you want less heat)
- 1 lime (about 21/2 tablespoons)
- 1 small onion (cut into small chunks)
- 1/2 bunch cilantro (about 1 cup loosely-packed fresh cilantro)
- 4 oz. diced green chilies (drain them if you prefer a thicker salsa)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. garlic (minced, if using fresh, use 3 cloves garlic)
- 1 tsp. chili powder (or less to taste)
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. sea salt (you may need more, see note)
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
