- 1 btl. red wine (fruity, use something inexpensive)
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 whole vanilla bean
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. butter (cold, cut into small cubes)
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
- 4 Tbsp. ice water (or more)
