- 2 1/2 Tbsp. red food coloring (I used a gel food coloring...about 1 tsp mixed with enough water to make 2-1/2 tablespoons...which is why my cupcakes are more burgundy than red)
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour (all-purpose)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. distilled white vinegar
- 2 1/3 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
- 3 Tbsp. butter (room temperature)
- 4 oz. cream cheese (cold, I used room temperature)
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
