I usually add less sugar than the recipes and I'm glad I did that for this as well. It was perfect! Great, very easy recipe! Totally recommended.

With 2 changes : dot with 1 tablespoon butter and mix 1/2 teaspoon salt with sugar; lemon not needed and I only use nutmeg in custard pie. Cooked an extra 10 minutes or until juice just starts to run out of initials on top crust ( first letter of kind of pie and first letter(s) of the baker(s)....especially important if grandchildren are helping. These letters let the steam escape. I use a few drops of cream or milk with small egg yolk to finish. It’s pretty and grands can “paint the pie”
