  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 jalapeno pepper (chopped)
  • 1 garlic clove (chopped)

  • 2 cups canned chicken broth
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8-ounce)
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro

    Directions

    1. Melt butter in heavy large skillet over medium heat.
    2. Add next 6 ingredients and saute until vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
    3. Add broth and tomato sauce and cook until sauce thickens and reduces to 1 1/2 cups, stirring frequently, about 20 minutes.
    4. Mix in cilantro.

    This sauce was purrrfect! I will definitely make it again. I used homemade broth instead of canned. Super easy and made the dinner.
