- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 lb. ground beef (I used lean beef)
- 32 oz. kidney beans (rinsed)
- 1/2 red pepper (chopped)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 Tbsp. flavoring (Better Than Bouillon, Flavor)
- 16 oz. petite diced tomatoes
- 8 oz. tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 Tbsp. sugar (optional, I used zero-calorie sweetener Swerve)
- salt
- pepper
- 1 Tbsp. cayenne pepper (Add more or less to fit your taste and how spicy you like your chili)
- shredded cheddar cheese
- avocado (sliced)
- sour cream
- jalapenos (You can also add the jalapenos while cooking if you really like spicy!)
