- 1 lb. ground meat (I prefer turkey)
- 1 Tbsp. fine sea salt
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar (I used Dixie Crystals)
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 15 oz. pumpkin puree
- 15.5 oz. red kidney beans (can dark, drained and rinsed)
- 15.5 oz. light red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
- 14.5 oz. fire roasted diced tomatoes
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for topping - I like Cabot White Oak Cheddar)

It was excellent with a few edits. Like, there’s no way it requires 1 tablespoon of salt - I used a pinch, but also added Tabasco. I thought it needed a couple tbsp of tomato paste. I also added a can and half of beer and a handful of chopped kale. With the pumpkin, tomatoes, beans and kale, this chili packs a nutritional punch.

This is a keeper. I've made it twice. I used real garlic indtead if garlic powder.

Sooo delicious! It had a hot and sweet flavor that my family loved! I did use real garlic instead of garlic powder but it all turned out great. No leftovers.

I double the recipe and cooked in my crockpot. was gone by next day. even leftovers didnt stand a chance
