  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts (plus more for decorating)
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 16 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 Orange
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar (or more to taste)

    Delicious! Very moist. I decided not to frost the cake. I like adding a tablespoon of whipping cream or cool-whip. Would also be great with a little french vanilla ice cream. It doesn't need frosting. I will definitely make this cake again. I made it in a 13-9 pan. If you don't have allspice, add a teaspoon of clove.

    Very flavorful and great presentation. The icing was not so sweet although I did use 1 1/2 c confectioners sugar rather than 1 c as per the recipe
