Well. Upon 1st taste test, it’s promising!
I felt I got the right batter consistency going into the oven, viscous-thick, and it came out nicely done with a rich, not-too sweet but firm, moist finish.
Was thrilled with the consistency of the chai frosting. My husband contributed ‘Tipu’s Chai Now’ concentrated mix & had no messing about w/tea bags. Miraculously hit a nice chai tang in the frosting using 1.25 tbl, which peaked really nicely. Butter for the frosting needs a chopper with fortitude; my magic-bullet knock-off barely cut the mustard after I melted the cup & 1/2 of butter 3-quarters way through.
I’m very pleased with the turn-out, both frosting & pumpkin part. Can’t wait to taste again once it gets a good solidifying overnight cool in the fridge.
My only beef is the color similarity b/w filling & frosting. Too close & unappetizing. But I think I can, and others, get over it on the basis of its general orgasmic effect on the tongue. I’ll try this satisfyingly successful & tasty pumpkin bar again!
