Added corn and extra broth. Will add cut green beans and an additional can of black beans next time.

Pretty good, I'd leave out the red pepper flakes next time. I had to cook a little longer and I'll make this again.

Very simple, quick and packed with goodies. I’d lower the qty of the chilli powder to make it more kid friendly. Also simmered 10 minutes longer than the recommended time. Lentils came out more tender of course. Definitely making it again. Thank you!

I LOVE THIS SOUP. I love that it's vegan and packed with protein. I made this for a thanksgiving gathering at work and it was a hit! It was spicy the first time I made it - so I just didn't add red pepper flakes the next time!

Very good and easy to make. Was a little spicy for my taste, so I will need to play with the spices to get it to 5 star rating. Family enjoyed and I need more protein in my diet, so this will easily become a staple soup.

This was delicious! I followed the recipe as directed but held off on putting in the black beans till later in the cooking process. I let it all cook about 35-40 minutes and the carrots were still al dente and perfect!

it was great! I used a little less red pepper flakes than what it calls for and it was still pretty spicy. Not too spicy though.

So delicious and easy! Kept recipe the same. Yum!

It was ok. I'm not sure why I keep trying to convince myself I like red pepper flakes, should have omitted and I might have liked it more.

So good. I actually subtituted Chick pea and White bean for the black bean and it was amazing. Such lovely flavour. More like a spicy hearty stew. We baked home made sourdough rolls to go with it. Definitely will try it with black bean next time and maybe some spinach? The lentils needed a little longer than 30mins to cook, more like 50mins? which also seemed to help the flavour permeate the dish more.
This is an amazing soup! I followed this recipe almost exactly— I just added spinach and turmeric. I was skeptical about putting the raw lentils with canned beans at the same time but it turned out delicious! I cooked for longer though. Either way, it was so filling and easy for a beginner cook like myself. I made homemade tortilla chips to go along with it, super good!

We enjoyed this for dinner this evening. It has a little kick to it, but is delicious. We’ll definitely have it again, and again!

This was very flavorful, but feel recipe doesnt give good direction for non cooks. i soaked the lentils for 3 hours then cooks them alone with broth for about an hour before added other ingredients. i also added a little more seasoning than stated. it is really good. will definitely make again.

Thick healthy and satisfying. Great for batch cooking for work. I added mushrooms and doubled the spices in the recipe otherwise kept it the same

I had to subtract a few ingredients because I was running low in the fridge, so let me tell you that lentils and black beans are crucial, everything else is optional. Absolutely amazing dish that I made early for dinner, but the family ended up eating for breakfast because it was so delicious. Can't wait to try this again with all the ingredients when a 'lesser' version turned out so well!

So simple to make and so tasty! A lovely hearty soup that’s perfect for lunch on a cold day :)

This is delicious and so easy. I used fire roasted diced tomatoes and that added a lot. I may add mushrooms next time.

It turned out amazing. Nothing needed tweaking. I might have used more salt and I left out the cumin just because I don’t like it. I will definitely be making this again.

Surprisingly fantastic flavor for such a simple recipe. Probably the fastest prep I’ve ever seen for a soup

Quick and easy to make kicked the spices up a little good go to meal

It’s really good but, I added more spice to kick it up a bit, I also added more liquid due to the lentils soaking up all the recipe had

Delicious! I will definitely make this again.
