Turned out really good. I replaced the cream with protein powder mixed in with little water. I also included a bit more corn powder than was in the recipe. Overall, it turned out good.

𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 (𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘁) 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗱
I live alone, so the full recipe was too much for me. This makes approximately 3 cups. When I made this custard for the third time it took me less than 15 minutes from opening my computer (to check the recipe) to finished 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 (𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗚𝗼𝘁) 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗱 (I like to eat it hot).
~~~
𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
~~~
2 Tablespoons plus 3/4 teaspoon (1-ounce) of 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿
--- ---
1 Tablespoon 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 (prevents eggs from curdling and helps heat transfer through custard more evenly)
--- ---
1/8 teaspoon 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗿 (stabilizes the custard and it seems creamier to me)
--- ---
1 cup 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗿𝘁 (if watery - drain in a strainer lined with a 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗹 before measuring - Bounty paper towels don't fall apart or tear when wet)
More 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 (for sweetening to taste)
--- ---
3 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝗹𝗸𝘀
--- ---
1 Tablespoon 𝗨𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 (cut into small pieces - makes it taste opulent)
--- ---
1 Tablespoon 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁
--- ---
💜𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 💜Pinch of 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 (makes it taste exceptional to me)
~~~
𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
~~~
In a 4 cup microwave-safe bowl (approximately 6.25 inches Length x 6.25 inches Width x 5.88 inches High)
--- ---
Put 2 Tablespoons plus 3/4 teaspoon sugar, cornstarch, and cream of tartar into the bowl and whisk until well blended
--- ---
Add the yogurt and whisk until well blended.
--- ---
Add extra sugar to taste. Whisking as you add it until the mixture is well blended
--- ---
Add the 3 egg yolks and whisk until well blended.
--- ---
💜𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 💜If you decide to try it, add the pinch of ground cardamom seeds and whisk until well blended.
--- ---
Drop the small pieces of unsalted butter on top, DO NOT MIX !!!
--- ---
Place the bowl into the microwave and heat 1 minute on high. Remove and whisk until well blended. (Repeat = a total of 2 times)
--- ---
Add the vanilla and whisk until well blended.
--- ---
Place the bowl into the microwave, again, and heat for 20-30 seconds on high. Remove, again, and whisk until well blended. (Repeat - until you are satisfied with how thick it is)
~~~
* I don't preheat the yogurt *
--- ---
** It takes me approximately 5 minutes of heating and whisking to get a really thick custard. For me thick = when it keeps its shape when you remove the whisk (very, very soft peaks) **
--- ---
*** I mix, cook, and eat out of the 4 cup bowl, so there's no cleanup until you finish eating ***
Excellent I didn’t have to modify it at all. I made one serving and it was just enough
