I made this yesterday using granny smith apples. I added some lemon juice as part of the liquid and a pinch of salt. I have a Breville Fast Slow cooker, so I pressure cooked it on High for 10 minutes and let it release naturally. What I had was a form of apple sauce with skins. It tasted great as a compote on ice cream, I would even use it as a chutney. But the visual presentation as a "baked apple " wasn't there.
